Mini Earthenware production was a new venture for Animal Artistry /Alchemy Ceramics in 2007 and we hope to continue expanding the range in 2008. The Bone China back log is being worked through at a steady rate, but is limited by how fast Lorraine can paint them. However, in the meantime, l do have the capacity to produce more china horses, and so l feel that l can offer you all something new. While the bone chinas are steadily produced, we can experiment with other china horse possibilities. Johanna, my former Resin painter has made huge progress in under glazing techniques and l can now confidently offer our first standard run pinto. l have chosen the small classic Shetland mare for this run, as she has never been offered in china before, and she looks particularly pretty as a pinto. She has been finished in a rich Liver Chestnut colouring with a Red/gold mane and tail. There will be some slight variation in the markings as we progress through the run, as they are all applied by hand, and can not be replicated exactly. She then has a very high gloss glaze added to give a lovely silky smooth glossy "clinky" in the traditional style of Beswick or Pour Horse.
This little china horse stands approximately 4 inches high and each one will be individually numbered, and stamped underneath with the Animal Artistry Alchemy details.
Unlike the previous mini runs, l do not have a large stock of these to send out immediately, and they will be dispatched a few each week. The first 5 are ready to decorate this week, and there will be more available the following week. Therefore there will be a short delay in dispatch with these ponies, so if you would like to order one for the future, rather than for "now" that will work out well with my current production commitments ; )
The Shetland Pony Mare is also available in White Earthenware Bisque prepared and produced by Alchemy Ceramics she has all the attention to detail that you would expect from an Alchemy edition. Each part is cleaned and detail enhanced to give an outstanding finish. The body is fired towards the maximum end of the firing scale, 1140 degrees Centigrade giving a very strong fired sculpture.
Alchemy has tested the regular American glazes on the body with no sign of rejection. As the pieces are bisque fired in small chambers, each piece is guaranteed a good firing, there fore reducing the chances of the glaze crazing in out lifetime. The bisque pony mares are not kept in stock at the moment so there would be a 4 week turn around time after the order is placed.
The price for this Very Pretty Pinto Pony Mare is only $240.00 each inc. P&P or £120.00 inc. VAT and P&P.
As a bisque the price is $150.00 inc. P&P or £75.00 inc. VAT and P&P for GB
